Ubisoft is releasing highly anticipated updates for Rainbow Six Siege, including crossplay between PC and consoles, an overhauled reputation system, and balance changes.

As Rainbow Six Siege nears its tenth year, Ubisoft's finally shipping some extremely highly requested updates, including crossplay between PC and consoles, an overhauled reputation system, amongst other balance changes.

Coming with Operation Collision Point, the last season of Year 9, aka Y9S4, these features are targeting several of the biggest community requests for the game as it works to clean up the overall player experience.

PC-Console crossplay has arrived

With new crossplay, console players can finally team up with friends on PC. When a console player joins PC friends, they will automatically enter the PC matchmaking pool, truly unifying the player base across platforms because of this.

Ubisoft is also adding in the "MouseTrap" feature in the name of fair competition; console players on mouse and keyboard setups are thrown into the PC matchmaking pool and will have recoil mechanics tailored for PC.

Reputation System Refresh

Along with crossplay, Ubisoft brings in a change to Siege's reputation system as an attempt to improve the community environment in-game.

It gives rewards when showing positive behavior and would hopefully make toxic people minimize so that players would have a much better time playing with friends in a much fairer and friendlier atmosphere.

Operator adjustments and balancing

Y9S4 answers some community feedback from players with nerfs to attacking shield operators in response to their rework back in Y9S1 that many felt was too strong.

Further changes are still planned, including a Blackbeard rework, a Ying nerf, as well as Sens and Thunderbird buffs.
