Title:Senior EstimatorPosition Role: The estimator's primary role is to provide complete and thorough cost estimates on bid opportunities assigned to them by the senior management team. Estimators will review all necessary documents, including but not limited to, door schedules, floor plans, hardware sets, specifications, and project schedules. Estimates must be complete using proper cost code structure, so projects can be properly broken down and managed upon award. Estimates are to be performed by individual estimators and supported by administrative staff as needed.
Report to Director of PreconstructionResponsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
Maintain bid schedule for each assigned project estimate.
Participation in weekly Allegheny Commercial Doors LLC meetings
Bid projects using documents supplied by contractor.
Seek multiple quotes for necessary items i.e., wood doors, hollow metal doors, hardware, etc.
Enter bids using Comsense.
Review necessary security documentation for doors/hardware.
Present bids to D.O.E. for review prior to submittal
Present value-engineered alternative door/hardware when requested.
Participate in de-scope meetings to review bids.
Properly document changes made during de-scope meetings.
Share documented changes via SharePoint.
Prepare hand-off documents.
Must be completed a minimum two days prior to scheduled meeting.
Must be completed in accordance with standard file structure.
Must be completed on SharePoint/viewable by all necessary parties.
Hand off Doc's should be organized and represent the "as sold scope and budget."
Maintain proper info on CRM software.
Follow up with customers as planned during weekly strategy meeting.
Work to accomplish estimating goals as defined by D.O.E.
Participate in contract review process.
Complete required training and person growth plans
Estimating ProceduresProcedures For Bidding a JobJobs assigned to estimator using Smartsheet bid schedule.
Bids must be completed within review period assigned by the Vice President of Preconstruction
Door schedule entered in Comsense.
Enter Door Tag information according to Door Schedule into the proper field in Comsense.
Enter proper Level or Floor in the "Level" column in Comsense.
Floor Plans Reviewed For The Following
Against door schedule for accuracy
Verify listed openings exists on plans.
Verify opening match door schedule (i.e., single vs. pair)
Check for openings on the Floor Plans that may not be on Door Schedule
Wall Type- identity and mark in Comsense.
Borrowed lights and other miscellaneous details.
Unit matrix take-off completed by estimator, if required by project
